Now That I Can Go to the Dentist, How Can I Minimize My Risk?

By: Dr. Samantha Rawdin

We’re not sure about you, but we were literally counting down the days until Governor Cuomo
said that we could enter Phase II of reopening the state. During all that downtime we had, we
spent many hours planning on how reopening would impact the safety of our patients and our
employees.

We’ve tirelessly worked to make our office a space that has minimal risk… but are
you asking yourself, just because you CAN come back and visit our office, SHOULD you?

Steps We’ve Taken to Help Minimize Risk Of Exposure To Covid-19

If you are healthy and have not been given any indication by your primary care physician or
other doctor that you should not be out in public, we are happy to welcome you back into our
office! And just to be safe, we’ve taken many precautions within the office and have many ways
to help minimize your risk of exposure to Covid-19.

Some of the steps we’ve taken to help are:

● New upgraded air filters through out the office
● Hospital-grade disinfection protocols after each patient
● Health screenings and temperature checks for patients prior to appointments
● Staggered appointment times to reduce traffic and allow for social distancing between
patients
● Paperless check out process
● CDC recommended personal protective equipment for all employees
And, there are many pre-existing features in our office that allow for a safer, faster experience!
● CEREC– our system for same day restorations such as crowns, veneers, inlays and
onlays. This allows us to complete treatment that usually takes at least two visits in just
one visit!
● Our onsite laboratory allows us to modify restorations and fabricate some removable
prostheses while you wait.

Less visits = less opportunities for exposure

If you have any comorbidities that would put you at an increased risk or have been told by a physician that you should not see a dentist, please stay home. If you have a dental emergency, please call our office. We will be able to help guide you over the phone as to what the next steps are. And, of course, please wash your hands, wear your masks in public and stay home if you’re not feeling well.

Our top priority is the safety of our patients and staff, so if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at 212.246.8700 or send an email to info@gallery57dental.com. We look forward to seeing you in the office soon!
