I wish it was that simple to get descent healthcare. I called the office and asked whether Dr Orlando took my insurance. I was informed he did. I came to the office and filled out all the necessary forms, (there was no form saying the provider is out of network). I got evaluated and was offered to get route canal done on the same day. I agreed because as per the doctor it was medically necessary, and it was included in my insurance plan. Very important note: Dr Orlando appeared to be out of network with Cigna. He charged me the amount that he made up himself. My insurance paid $1500 for the visit, X-rays and route canal. And also it allowed the provider to charge me for the rest of the billed amount. He could have billed my insurance for any amount and I’d be responsible for the difference of billed and paid amount. This is how out of network works. If the provider was in network it would completely different allowance, based on the contract rate. They tricked me by withholding the information that he is out of network and I was responsible for greater amount. My annual limit of $1500 was maxed out during the 1st visit. And they made me pay more. I got a temporary filling, and was told to hurry up, and schedule next appointment for a crown, which would be another $1800. Basically the doctor frightened me that my tooth would crush if he didn’t put a crown within next 2 weeks. I made an appointment for a follow up. I wanted to discuss my options, something cheaper than $1800. Remember, my first visit was almost $2000. I came to the doctor to get an advise, to get help, but he literally got furious and yelled at me for messing up his schedule. “You screwed up my schedule”. The front desk was nice and empathetic "ohh, route canal is always expensive". Right, just next time be honest and tell your patients that the provider is out of network. Should I mention that I found another doctor? The doctor who is considerate, with good bedside manner, who doesn’t treat his assistant as a servant. And my annual max limit is enough to cover more than just 1 visit. It has been over a year now and my tooth is safe and sound without a crown. I regret wasting my time and money at Gallery 57.
I've been a patient of Dr. Orlando's for years, and I've never had a better dentist. The whole staff at Gallery 57 is warm, welcoming, and professional. I know my teeth are in excellent hands and that I also experience the best patient care possible. Any time someone mentions they're looking for a new dentist, I'm always sure to recommend Dr. Orlando and this practice.
Excellent dental work!
Gallery57 Dental has a truly exceptional team. All my experiences have been excellent, and I’m very happy with the work they’ve done.
Dr. Robert Rawdin is 100% the best dentist I’ve ever had. Not only is he knowledgeable and friendly, but he goes above and beyond for you. I’ve never felt more comfortable sitting in a dentist’s chair in my life. Late last year I had a crown installed and I honestly didn’t feel any pain or discomfort. I didn’t even feel a pinch getting the local anesthetic. The best thing about the whole procedure was that Gallery 57 has an onsite lab where they make the crowns that day. So, in one visit, I was able to get measured and have the crown fitted the same day. No need for more anxiety of a second visit and no need to take more time off of work. More recently, during the COVID19 crisis, I had an issue with my wisdom teeth. I emailed Dr. Rawdin and he immediately called me to see how he could help. By the end of the call he had a prescription to fight any possible infection sent to my local pharmacy. I will need to have my wisdom teeth removed, and for once I am not worried about going to the dentist as I know I am in the best hands. I highly recommend Dr. Rawdin and Gallery 57 Dental.
I moved to NYC after having lived in Canada for the last 5.5 years. I was fortunate to have amazing dental care and loved my dentist so when I moved to NYC finding the right dentist was a priority for me. I went to one dental practice and felt like I was just a number with an incredibly average experience. I was then referred to Gallery 57 by a colleague. I had my first consultation today and I can’t say how welcome Elle at the front desk made me feel from the moment I walked in the door. Not only was it Elle but the technician Julie was fantastic, friendly and explained everything to me clearly. Most importantly however was the care and time that Dr Orlando took to loom after me. He went above and beyond and took the time to explain everything to me with X-rays, photographs and analysis. Not only that, he waived the cost of my first consultation. This is a dental practice that made me feel right at home and the way dental care should be.
Dentist visits are not my favorite thing to do but from start to finish the staff made me feel comfortable and welcomed! Elle began by giving me a tour of the office space highlighting the state of the art technology and services offered. Yuli and Elena did an amazing job on my cleaning and x-rays, while Dr. Orlando did a great job explaining my teeth situation and the next steps needed in the process. As a first time client, I’m very impressed and highly suggest to anyone looking for a new dentist.
